Tracking European eels in the English Channel
A pop-off tag used to track the migratory patterns of European eels has washed up in Guernsey.
LifeWatch Belgium has been implanting pop-off data storage tags (pDSTs) in migrating eels to study their migrating behaviour.
The storm of recent weeks have blown a lot of these tags to the shores of the English Channel, resulting in spectacular feedback. This did not go unnoticed by BBC Guernsey, who dedicated a news episode to this!
