New release: version 11 of Maritime Boundaries

MarineRegions.org is proud to launch version 11 of the Maritime Boundaries Geodatabase.
Lifewatch
In this new release, Marine Regions updates the global Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) (version 11), and launches version 3 of the datasets for Territorial Seas (TS), Contiguous Zones (CZ), Internal Waters (IW) and Archipelagic Waters (AW).

Some novelties in this new release:
  • ISO and M49 codes
The United Nations Standard Codes (or M49 codes) and ISO country codes per territory and sovereign have been included in the attribute tables of the Exclusive Economic Zones, the 12 & 24 Nautical Miles zones, the Internal and the Archipelagic Waters.
  • Pacific-centered Maps
We created a version of Maritime Boundaries centered in the Pacific Ocean. These new 0 to 360° products make your life easier when you need to work in regions where the longitude is near 180°.
  • CC License
No borders! Marine Regions is adopting the CC BY license for Maritime Boundaries and Gazetteer. This means that commercial use is possible now. However, we request our users not to make our products available for download elsewhere and to refer always to marineregions.org for the most up-to-date products and services. For more information read our disclaimer.
  • New Treaties
Updating borders is a never ending task. We've added the newest treaties to v11, including the latest International Court of Justice rulings. All their respective sources are documented in the attributes of the boundary lines.
