A new look for EurOBIS
To give EurOBIS more visibility and to promote its own identity, a new EurOBIS website was developed and launched.
EurOBIS, the European Node of the international Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS), publishes distribution data on marine species, collected within European marine waters or collected by European researchers outside European marine waters. The EurOBIS data system is integrated within the LifeWatch infrastructure.
Until now, EurOBIS was only accessible through the MarBEF website. To give EurOBIS more visibility and to promote its own identity, a new EurOBIS website was developed and launched.
On the homepage of the new EurOBIS website you can find the latest additions and updates to EurOBIS, as well as an overview of species that were documented for the first time in EurOBIS.
On the new website you can also find a lot of background information about EurOBIS: the scope, the standards and data formats that are used, the international data flow, etc. The site also links to several data portals where the EurOBIS data are available. Furthermore, the site explains how to contribute data to EurOBIS.
