The water quality of the Sluice dock in Ostend is monitored in the framework of aquacultural activities. The Sluice Dock is the only surface water in Belgium, which is designated as "shellfishwater". For this reason, the desired high water quality standards need to be maintained.In the harbour and on several fixed stations in the Sluice dock, the water level and waterquality parameetrs are measured daily.
