As part of the LifeWatch Flanders advisory board, LifeWatch Belgium organises a session around Corporate Biodiversity Reporting.
Private companies are in need for biodiversity data, for obligatory reporting to the corporate sustainability reporting directive (CSRD), but also in the framework of voluntary reporting initiatives. However, it is not always clear for the private sector what data is available. On the other hand, from a biodiversity research infrastructure perspective, the requirements from the private sector or bottlenecks to use data or services are not always visible. Therefore, LifeWatch Flanders organises an on open session to bridge the gaps between the private sector's needs and the tools and services that biodiversity infrastructures, governmental institutes and NGOs can provide.
For this session, Johan Lammerant (Arcadis) will introduce us to Corporate Biodiversity Reporting with a lecture on Data needs for corporate biodiversity reporting.
This session will be followed by a Question & Answer session and a round table discussion to discuss bottlenecks for biodiversity reporting. Arcadis and Mantis Consulting will provide insights from the private sector. Representatives from research infrastructures, policy and civil society are invited to join the discussion and formulate action points.
