Biodiversity_Next
Biodiversity_Next is a joint conference by The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), a new pan-European Research Infrastructure initiative (DiSSCo), the national resource for digitized information about vouchered natural history collections (iDigBio), Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities (CETAF), and Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG). Biodiversity_Next is a conference that brings together, for the first time at this scale, major international organisations, research scientists, and policy makers to jointly identify socio-technical bottlenecks and horizon-scan opportunities around data-intensive biodiversity and geodiversity research.
During the conference, the LifeWatch INBO team is (co-)organizing the following symposium and workshop:
ST69 Machine Observations Interest Group: A first dive into Darwin Core for exchanging biologging data (symposium organized during the conference)
WT18 Using the checklist recipe to standardize data to Darwin Core using R (pre-conference workshop)
The LifeWatch VLIZ team will be present with the LifeWatch Species Information Backbone.
