Abstract
In the ship manoeuvring simulators at FHR, wind fields are implemented as un iform fields in general. The fields are normally defined by four wind vectors at the corners of the environment. To include the shelter effect of a moored vessel, a local wind field around the moored vessel must be implemented. This report discusses CFD calculations that have been performed to generate such a field for a roro-ferry with length of 235 m and a breadth of 35 m moored in the Brittannia dock in the port of Zeeb rugge. A pure transversal wind field was applied with an atmospheric boundary layer. The wind coefficients for a wind angle of 90 degrees have been calculated as well.
