Description
The composition and distribution of the macrobenthic amphipod, mollusc and polychaete fauna in the Evros Delta have been investigated. The distribution of species showed a zonation mainly related to the degree of "confinement".

The data was sampled using a modified Van Veen Grab with a surface of 400 cm² (20 X 20 cm) which penetrated to a depth of 20 cm. Four replicates were taken at each station of which the average density and biomass were calculated.
