Description
The original aim of this study and data collection was to provide accurate information on the composition of Molluscan assemblages from hard substrates in the Mediterranean. Terlizzi et al. (2003) also aimed to quantify possible differences in assemblage structure among the three sampled sites and along a depth gradient. more
Data consisted of counts of abundance and species of molluscs collected along a rocky cliff near Otranto (southern Adriatic Sea, Italy). There were three sites, separated, approx. 100 m apart and, for each site, at each of the two sampling occasion (May and November 2000) (sampling was undertaken at 5, 15 and 25 m depth by scraping off three replicate 20*20 cm quadrats. There were 133 species on a total of 6722 individuals Scope Themes: Biology, Biology > Benthos, Biology > Ecology - biodiversity Keywords: Marine/Coastal, Benthos, Macrobenthos, Rocky shores, MED, Adriatic, Mollusca, Mollusca Geographical coverage MED, Adriatic [Marine Regions] Temporal coverage
