Abstract
A dead red-billed tropicbird found on Texel was the reason for the twoDutch finds to be discussed. Attention to the species also yielded a sighting of a passing specimen in the Netherlands that had not previously been widelyknown. The Dutch tropicbirds were also considered in light of other Northwest European cases. These include four dead and ten live specimens. The dead ones come fromthe winter half-year, the live ones from the summer half-year. It is possible that the dead birds werebrought in by ships.
