Abstract |
Young Sebastes, principally S. mentella Travin, form the predominant group of fish larvae in the central and eastern regions of the North Atlantic sampled by the continuous plankton recorder survey at a depth of 10 m. 4 populations of larvae could be distinguished on the basis of geographical distributions. patterns of pigmentation and the month of first extrusion. These included a vast oceanic population centred in the lrminger Sea and three separate populations over the North American Shelf and Slope between Labrador and the Gulf of Maine |
