This workshop is aimed at the taxonomic and thematic editors of the World Register of Introduced Marine Species (WRIMS).
Objectives of the workshop:
- Improve data quality and availability of WRIMS
- Incorporate information from researcher’s databases to WRIMS
- Learn more about the available online tools in WoRMS so the WRIMS editors can more easily incorporate taxonomic and geographic information into WRIMS
- Showcase the resources available in WRIMS to both the scientific community and general public
- Plan how WRIMS fits into the IAS landscape and coordinates with related activities
Aimed outcomes of the workshop:
- This workshop will provide an invaluable opportunity for knowledge exchange among editors
- A more efficient coordination among editors, as well as between the editors and the WoRMS Data Management Team
- Increased engagement and enthusiasm of WRIMS editors to improve its content
- Editors will learn how to use all the available online tools and be more efficient editing and adding content to WRIMS
- This workshop will be the start of a comprehensive revision of the WRIMS’ contents
- Co-authored paper about WRIMS as it is now
- Plans for synergetic collaboration with related initiatives (journals, OBIS, INVASIVENET, etc.)
