Dag van de Wetenschap 2022

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the research vessel Simon Stevin, the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) organizes a one-week expedition. On Sunday 27 November 2022, the ship will dock in Antwerp on the occasion of Dag van de Wetenschap. And you can visit it!

For a whole week, marine scientists take samples and collect data to tackle some of our planet's key challenges (climate change, plastic pollution and biodiversity loss). Board the research ship, meet the scientists and get to know their research. LifeWatch VLIZ scientist will be on board to highlight one of the themes currently challenging our planet: biodiversity. You can join our colleagues sampling plankton and studying it under a microscope.
