Abstract
Following the concepts formalized by Shennan (1982a, 1982b, 1986), Shennan et al. (1983) and Tooley (1982), a preliminary sidereal chronology of the Holocene periods of tendencies in the marine influence was derived for the Belgian coastal plain. For this purpose, the radiocarbon-dated litho- and ecostratigraphic observations regarding the redrawal or increase of the marine activity at more than 40 sites have been considered.
