Flanders gets first 'drone'

Added on 2013-03-24 10:55:21 by Vanhoorne, Bart
UFO observers are warned: from next year onwards at least one unmanned aircraft will fly over Flanders. "The device will be used to determine the ecological value of each piece of land in Flanders," said Jurgen Tack of The Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO).
This Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) or 'drone', was purchased in the framework of LifeWatch and means a valuable asset to the LifeWatch observatory. In order to further expand this observatory, many other devices will be purchased in the future as well.
